Dear Colleagues,

Due to the global situation, we are writing to let you know of the postponement of 7th FLUORINE DAYS conference planned to be held in Poznań, Poland, 5-9th July, 2020.

Fluorine Days conferences are held every three years, so we will be holding this conference in 2023, likely in July 2023. We will be in touch as rescheduling takes place.

Originally scheduled for 2023 meeting - 8th FLUORINE DAYS planned to be held in Nagoya (Japan), as suggested by Steering Committee and agreed with Professor Norio Shibata, chair of this conference, will be moved to 2026.

If you have registered, your fees will automatically be refunded.

Fluorine Days 2020

Dear Fluorine Friends,

7th Fluorine Days meeting continue to be a leading forum providing a wide overview in all aspects of fluorine chemistry. The symposium is addressed to scientists and researchers from “Organofluorine community” coming from academia as well as from industry. The main goal of this meeting is to exchange the new “fluorinated” ideas within this society. The formula of this symposium has been established within last years on previous meetings held in Perugia (Italy, 2001 and 2010), in Valencia (Spain, 2012), in Bordeaux (France, 2014), in Bremen (Germany, 2016) and in Nanjing (China, 2018).

Usually the symposia were attended by 130-150 chemists, and the scientific program will include plenary lectures (35 min), invited lectures (25 min) and poster presentations. A social program, highlighting the cultural heritage of Poznań, will be organized for the conference attendees and accompanying persons.

7th Fluorine Days will be held in Poznań, Poland, July 5-9th, 2020. Why Poznań? About 11 centuries ago Poznań was the place where Poland as a State began. Later, Poznań became a vibrant medieval and renaissance city, but in the 19th century it was turned into stronghold, one of the largest in the world. In the 20th century several historical events of great importance took place in Poznań.

Now Poznań is not only a historic city, well known for his historical heritage, industry and commerce, but one of the largest academic centers in Poland with over 100.000 students in more than 10 universities. Poznań is a capital of Wielkopolska region (Greater Poland) located on the banks of Warta River, amidst lakes, forests, glacial hills, lavish residences of noblemen with their amazing grounds and other tourist attractions.

The long tradition of higher education in Poznań is often connected with the College of St. Maria Magdalena, founded in 1303 but still operating today as a secondary school. Lubrański Academy established in 1520, had to close just before Poland lost its independence at the end of 18th century. Poznań University was inaugurated in 1919 and in 1955 has been named after famous Polish poet Adam Mickiewicz University. The 7th Fluorine Days meeting will be held in new building of Collegium Chemicum, in beautiful area of Morasko University Campus, which is conveniently connected by a fast tramline to the city (about 10 min).

Some of you remember 14th European Symposium on Fluorine Chemistry which was organised here in 2004. We cordially invite you to visit Poznań, to attend 7th Fluorine Days.
